After being drawn to “Brokeback Mountain” like computer geeks to the latest “Star Wars” movie, liberals have an even more pretentious sense of tolerance.
The message is clear. If cowboys want to get it on with each other, you gotta support that. Might not be your bag, baby, but hey, no one is suggesting you go gay. Just leave those who are alone.
Colorado’s Prison Spending Meltdown
While lawmakers are deciding how to spend the proceeds from Referendum C, another budgetary crisis is flying under the radar. Simply put, Colorado faces a prison spending meltdown, and as politically unpopular as it may be, it is no longer a question of whether the legislature should take up sentencing law reform, but rather what the scope of those reforms should be.

n his 2002 book “Shakedown,” Ken Timmerman exposed the fundraising style of the Rev. Jesse Jackson. It’s pure mob. Jesse’s goons quite literally go to a corporation tell them to donate or face charges of racism by Jesse’s operatives. The corporation makes a purely business decision. It’s less expensive to just pay him off.
Prison costs are running out of control
Colorado taxpayers spend around $100 million a year to incarcerate drug offenders in state prisons. So it’s worth asking why any kind of sentencing reform, which could save millions of dollars in prison spending, has been off the table in the budget debates of the last few years.
